Mr. Ibrahim Abdulai Kamara

Internal Audit Manager

Mr. Kamara is an experienced finance professional with a career spanning over a decade in auditing and financial management. Holding a BSc in Applied Accounting, he is also a qualified member of ACCA-UK (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), ICASL (Institute of Chartered Accountants Sierra Leone), and ACFE-US (Association of Certified Fraud Examiners). Ibrahim brings extensive experience and a deep understanding of both external and internal audit processes. He has consistently demonstrated the ability to enhance organizational financial integrity and operational efficiency.

As the Internal Audit Manager at NMSA, Mr. Kamara is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive internal audit strategies, assessing risk management processes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. His role involves leading audit teams, conducting thorough risk assessments, and providing actionable recommendations to improve internal controls and operational procedures.

Known for his analytical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence, Mr. Kamara continues to drive improvements and uphold the highest standards of financial oversight in his role at the National Medical Supplies Agency. His blend of experience and qualifications makes him a key asset in advancing organizational goals and maintaining financial transparency

Responsibilities at NMSA:

  1. Formulate and implement comprehensive internal audit plans and strategies aligned with the agency’s objectives and risk profile.
  2. Conduct risk assessments to identify potential areas of risk within the agency’s operations.
  3. Lead and oversee the planning and execution of internal audits, including financial, operational, compliance, and IT audits
  4. Prepare detailed audit reports highlighting findings, risks, and recommendations for improvements
  5. Ensure that the agency’s operations adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
  6. Assess the effectiveness of internal controls and recommend enhancements to mitigate identified risks
  7. Coordinate and perform annual, semi annual and periodic stock count exercises at National and Districts warehouses
  8. Conduct fraud investigations.

NMSA is a public service agency responsible for the procurement, warehousing, and distribution of drugs and medical supplies in a transparent and cost effective manner for and on behalf of all public institutions throughout Sierra Leone.
