The Quality Assurance (QA) department ensures the procurement, storage and distribution of quality, safe, and efficacious Drugs and Medical Supplies.
It also ensures that products quality, safety, and efficacy are maintained throughout storage and distribution process. This is attained by implementing and complying to set standards in the quality assurance manual, and other developed Standard operating procedures.
Over the years, the agency had developed, and adhere to its Receiving Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Issuing SOP, and Reverse Logistics SOPs in managing its transactions.
There are also web-based temperature and humidity monitoring devices attached to all central warehouses for temperature and humidity controls.
The Quality Assurance department is divided between the two functions of supply chain operations, which are receiving and issuing of products.
NMSA: STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE MANUAL
It is the hope that an SOP document such as this, will facilitate the effective and standardized management of the processes and procedures leading to the safe disposal of expired, damaged and/or deteriorated products, as well as the redistribution of excess usable products throughout all public healthcare facilities in Sierra Leone.
