Background and Context
The Ministry of Health (MoH) in Sierra Leone strongly recognizes the crucial role that the Supply Chain (SC) plays in improving national health. To this end, a National Health SC Strategy (NHSCS) and its Costed Implementation Plan (2023-2027) were recently developed to guide high-impact investments and interventions, following the preparation of a round of Diagnostic Reports.
Through the Challenge Fund, Supplies for Sierra Leone (S4Salone) offers a timely opportunity to drive transformative change in Sierra Leone’s supply chain. This initiative supports the operationalization of the new National Health Supply Chain Strategy (NHSCS) in the short term and invests in prioritized, high-impact areas. A key focus of S4Salone’s support is the implementation of the established supply chain governance mechanism. Specifically, this includes providing technical assistance to the National Supply Chain Working Group (NSCWG), enabling effective coordination with technical sub-groups and other relevant stakeholders.
To this end, the World Bank, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MoH) of Sierra Leone, NMSA, and the GFF, is seeking a consultant to lead the activities and deliverables described in Sections B and C.
