Dr. Moses N. P. Batema was appointed Deputy Managing Director of the National Medical Supplies Agency (NMSA) in September 2018. He is a registered pharmacist of good standing in two jurisdictions: Sierra Leone and Ontario, Canada. With twenty (20) years post-graduation experience, Dr. Batema has spent fourteen (14) of these years specifically dedicated to patient-care focused roles and twelve (12) of these in varying pharmacy practice roles, both in Sierra Leone and Canada, but not necessarily mutually exclusive of one another. Dr. Batema has served as a pharmacy manager in a busy pharmaceutical care setting in Ottawa – Ontario, Canada. As an advanced practitioner with unique knowledge and skills in ambulatory care sensitive conditions (ACSCs), he has a demonstrated history of working in variety of healthcare and related settings, including, but not limited to: community pharmacy, family health teams, radio pharmaceutical industry, pharmacy practice research, pharmaceutical inventory and supply chain management, third-party insurance management; pharmacy education and teaching; global pharmaceutical policy analysis; quantitative and qualitative research; and regulatory affairs.
