As part of her quarterly engagement with staff of the Agency, the Managing Director of the National Medical Supplies Agency (NMSA), Madam Jatu Josephine Abdulai, has urged staff to prioritize efficiency in their daily activities, mindful of the critical role the Agency plays in achieving quality health outcomes in Sierra Leone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing staff at the Agency\u2019s warehousing facility at Fawaz on Friday, 19th June 2026, the Managing Director commended the dedication and commitment of staff in ensuring that the Agency continues to achieve its core mandate of procurement, warehousing, and distribution of medicines and medical supplies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She noted that every staff member of the Agency is employed to serve the more than seven million people of Sierra Leone and, therefore, should regard their work as vital to the nation’s healthcare system. She emphasized the need for seriousness, urgency, and professionalism in ensuring that drugs and medical supplies are available at health facilities across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Madam Abdulai also used the occasion to remind staff of the Government\u2019s flagship healthcare initiative, the 300-Days of Activism to End Preventable Maternal and Child Deaths Campaign, which aligns with the country\u2019s commitment to promoting healthier lives for mothers and babies. Underscoring the important role of NMSA in the success of the campaign, she stated that the availability of essential medicines and medical supplies at health facilities remains a key determinant of its success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She therefore urged staff, particularly those within the supply chain, to remain focused and efficient to ensure the timely delivery of medicines and medical supplies nationwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highlighting some of the transformative measures undertaken by the Agency to strengthen accountability and safeguard commodities, the Managing Director informed staff of the installation of CCTV cameras across the Agency\u2019s stores and warehouses. She reiterated the Agency\u2019s zero-tolerance policy on drug pilferage and reminded staff that any act that compromises the integrity of the supply chain ultimately affects the public, including their own families and communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Let us remain true to the values of NMSA\u2014transparency, accountability, and value for money,” the Managing Director stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similar sentiments were echoed by members of the Senior Management Team, who emphasized the need for commitment, teamwork, and high performance from all staff members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen human resource capacity, Madam Abdulai also informed staff about the recruitment process for an additional nine personnel to fill various positions within the Agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The engagement also provided a platform for junior staff to raise concerns, share ideas, and make recommendations aimed at improving the Agency\u2019s operations and creating a better working environment for all employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
