[vc_row full_width=”0″ full_height=”0″ particles=”0″][vc_column margin=”margin_bottom_grid” offset=”vc_col-md-6″][vc_column_text]National Medical Supplies Agency (NMSA) is a public service agency responsible for the procurement, warehousing, and distribution of drugs and medical supplies in a transparent and cost effective manner for and on behalf of all public institutions throughout Sierra Leone[\/vc_column_text][vc_text_separator title=”BACKGROUND:” title_align=”separator_align_left”][vc_column_text]The National Medical Supplies Agency (NMSA) was established by an Act of parliament signed into law on the 26th<\/sup>\u00a0 October 2017.
\nThe main objective was to repeal and replaced the National Pharmaceutical Procurement Unit (NPPU) Act of 2012 and to establish a (new) public service agency with the following.[\/vc_column_text][vc_text_separator title=”MANDATE:” title_align=”separator_align_left”][vc_column_text]The\u00a0 Agency shall have exclusive responsibility for the procurement, warehousing and distribution of drugs and medical supplies in a transparent and cost-effective manner for and on behalf of all public institutions throughout Sierra Leone (The NMSA Act,, 2017 – Part III, Section 12 – 1).[\/vc_column_text][vc_text_separator title=”VISION” title_align=”separator_align_left”][vc_column_text]To be the sustainable and reliable public-sector health supply chain service provider for Sierra Leone.[\/vc_column_text][vc_text_separator title=”MISSION” title_align=”separator_align_left”][vc_column_text]To increase access to affordable, effective, safe, and high-quality health commodities to enhance health service delivery in Sierra Leone.[\/vc_column_text][vc_text_separator title=”KEY OPERATIONAL PRINCIPLES” title_align=”separator_align_left”][vc_column_text]\u2022 Supply chain management control<\/p>\n
